Yvonne has been practising law since she was admitted to the bar in 1994. She has an LLB (Hons) and a BA from Auckland University. Yvonne is the Senior Litigation Instructor at the College of Law, which provides legal professional training for law graduates who wish to be admitted to the New Zealand Bar.
Yvonne acts for large corporates, small - to medium-size enterprises and individuals. Her specialty areas of practice are employment/human resources law and commercial litigation.
Yvonne has dealt with all aspects of employment and human resources issues, including assisting employers to implement human resource policies and procedures, managing restructuring/ redundancy situations, and advising and assisting with workplace issues ranging from personal grievances to health and safety prosecutions, privacy complaints, and criminal misconduct. Yvonne acts for employees as well as employers, particularly for senior managers and chief executives.
Yvonne has presented at numerous seminars and conferences on employment issues, including the Employment Relations Act and its subsequent amendments, the Holidays Act 2003, privacy considerations in the workplace, health and safety matters, and issues in recruitment.
